Designing a logo for “huntermouse”

Now that I have a website, I guess it’s as a good a time as any to design a logo for my website.  “Huntermouse” was one many nicknames my parents had for me growing up.  There was also “Young Luke”, “Hunter-Bunter”, “Popeil”, El Bunturro, just to name a few, but “Huntermouse” was the one my folks most commonly used.

My idea for a logo is to use a small case “h” and integrate it with a mouse design.  Here’s my first rough design I did in Adobe Illustrator.

I like the concept of this design, but there’s a long ways to go.  I need to reduce the number of curves and simplify this design to fit my aesthetic.

Here’s another rendering.  I’m liking it, but it’s not anywhere near where I want it to be.  There’s something flat about the design.

1/7 – I’m continuing to play around with ideas and jotted down a quick sketch of a mouse door as the loop of the “h” with a mouse inside the doorway.

What I thought would be a “quick” design is quickly becoming an all out ordeal.  I’m going to keep plugging away until I come up with a design I’m happy with.

Another rough sketch about of a logo idea similar to the one above.  I think I’ll focus on creating the right “h” and then creating the right “mouse” and working on tying the two designs together.  Ultimately, what I’m looking for is a clean design with as few elements as possible.

Here’s the logo so far.  I want something that is streamlined and with few design elements.  I’m pretty happy with this so far.

I’ve been working on creating a brand from my new design.
